We do not sell personal data, and
Analytics cookies and third-party players load only if you say yes. Saying no changes nothing about what you can do here.

Who We Are

Vers Libre is a community radio station and creative studio in Bergen, Norway. We decide why and how your personal data is used, which makes us the data controller.

What We Collect and Why

We do not use your data for automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it.

We use these services to run Vers Libre. Each handles personal data only on our instructions.

Stripe: supporter payments
Mailchimp: the newsletter
Spond: membership, until the member portal replaces it
Supabase: where member accounts, bookings and messages are stored, in the EU (Paris, France)
Google: storage for files you upload and, only with your consent, Analytics
Hosting, email and notification providers: to run the website, send you emails and deliver notifications to the app
Mixcloud, Discord and WidgetBot: players and chat you choose to load

Some of these are based outside the EU and EEA. Where personal data is transferred there, we rely on safeguards approved under the GDPR, such as the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

When We Must or May Disclose Data

Besides the services above, we may disclose personal data:

where Norwegian law requires it, or a court, the police or another public authority lawfully asks for it, for example the tax authorities for bookkeeping;
to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, or to prevent crime and fraud, including to our accountant, auditor or legal adviser who are bound by confidentiality;
if Vers Libre AS is merged with, sold to or taken over by another organisation, to that organisation, which would then have to respect this policy.

How Long We Keep It

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, then delete it.

Account, membership, booking and message records are kept while you are a member or active user, and for as long afterwards as we have a reason to, such as settling a booking or answering a question.
Payment records are kept for as long as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires.
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. We will do so unless the law or a genuine need, such as a payment record, means we must keep it.

Your Rights

You can ask us to:

show you the personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy you can move elsewhere;
correct anything that is wrong;
delete your data, or restrict how we use it;
stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interest;
withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect what we did before.

Write to info@verslib.re. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.

Children and Young People

You must be 13 or older to create an account or sign up for the newsletter. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree before you book the studio or become a member. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We ask before using any that are not strictly necessary. You can change your choice at any time: .

Two things load when you choose to use them: the player at the bottom of the page when you press play, and the community chat when you open it. Each connects to another company (Mixcloud, and Discord through WidgetBot).

Changes to This Policy

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and, for anything significant, tell members directly.
