A year after the first air conditions conference, the annual exploration into air returns to Vers Libre.
Air Conditions 2022: a correspondence is a collaborative and cultural exchange between Bergen in Norway and Seyðisfjörður in Iceland. It will take shape as a series of radio broadcasts between Vers Libre and Seyðisfjörður Community Radio 107.1 in Iceland.
Air Conditions will establish a live collaboration “on air” in both its meanings: on the expanded topic of air, but also taking place in the space of the radio, literally moving through air. Based at each radio station will be a small group of people with practices and interests that span contemporary art, sound, ecology, writing, music…
Air Conditions 2022: a correspondence seeks to use radio as a collaborative tool for linking far away communities and to build social and cultural connections. Collectively the two groups will be brought together through their broadcasts but also through the wide and often intangible subject of air.
Each day the two radio stations will be making live radio programmes addressed to each other. When one station is broadcasting, the other will be listening with each broadcast will be a response to the previous. While the correspondence will be an intimate conversation between two small groups of individuals, it will be open to all to listen on FM or online.
The two radio stations will both be sending and receiving, speaking and listening in one long, shared conversation on air.
